After the inauguration of the President of South Africa on 10 May 1994, South Africa and the Royal Nepalese Government agreed to have relations. The South African High Commission in New Delhi, India, is accredited to Nepal on a non-residential basis. The Nepali Ambassador in Cairo is accredited to South Africa.
