Nepalis in Belgium comprises migrants of from Nepal to Belgium, comprising mostly of refugees, international students and permanent residents, as well as their locally born descendants.
Nepal established diplomatic relations with Belgium on 19th August 1963, those with the Netherlands and Luxembourg on 2nd April 1960 and 27th November 1975, respectively. Nepal enjoys very good relationships at the bilateral levels with all these countries. These relationships have been nurtured by high level bilateral visits to and from Nepal from time to time. Nepal has been a beneficiary of the development cooperation of these countries with funds provided through bilateral channels wherever it exists, multilateral organizations and NGOs. Nepal is, however, not on the list of countries from the BENELUX region which receive direct bilateral aid. The relationships at the bilateral Government levels are further nurtured by and evolving people-to–people relationships spearheaded by the NGOs from these countries and the increasing volume of tourist flows to Nepal.
